SDSU ADAPTIVE FITNESS CLINIC
The adaptive fitness center is a physical therapy office operated largely with the help of college students, and it works to help improve the physical and neuromuscular disabilities of the people who attend.

As a volunteer, you will be paired with your own patient who could have Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson's, MS, an orthopedic injury, or a range of other issues. You will set goals with your patient and work to improve their quality of life. The trained kinesiologists who run the center help make the initial exercise plan, but it would but up to you to modify and add to that program to get your patient to reach the goals they have. In addition to helping the patients physically, this program does a lot to help people in other ways too. For many of the patients, their time socializing with volunteers really makes a difference in their life. Others have cognitive disabilities like autism and interacting with volunteers like yourself is very beneficial for them.
Applications for this cycle are on a ROLLING basis. Click below to learn more about the program and sign up.
